Kathy Griffin, born Kathleen Mary Griffin on November 4, 1960, is an American comedian and actress known for her incisive and brutal observations in the world of politics and popular culture. Kathy rose to fame through stand-up and improvisational comedy and earned her education in both with the legendary Los Angeles troupe The Groundlings. After completing her training, Kathy went on to build a successful career and accrued a number of high-profile TV credits.
Although Kathy was widely known for her stand-up, she landed a few dramatic roles in series such as Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. In the early 2010s, Kathy became an outspoken political activist and, following the election of Donald Trump, became a stalwart critic of his presidency. Kathy has gone on to write a number of books and even earned a Grammy for Best Comedy Album. Although controversial, she has remained a mainstay within the world of comedy.
