PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — Riders on an Amtrak prepare that runs from Maine to Boston will quickly have to carry off on shopping for alcoholic drinks through the 35-mile stretch of the journey that goes by New Hampshire.

The Amtrak Downeaster takes passengers 145 miles from Brunswick, Maine, to Boston. The prepare features a cafe automotive that serves alcohol.

Nonetheless, the New Hampshire Liquor Fee has instructed the Northern New England Passenger Rail Authority that the prepare cannot serve alcohol through the New Hampshire portion of the journey.

The change is ready to go on the books on March 20, the Portland Press Herald reported. It stems from a New Hampshire regulation that forbids the serving of alcohol that hasn’t been bought within the state.

The corporate that gives the prepare’s meals and beverage service, Mansfield, Massachusetts-based NexDine Hospitality, buys its alcoholic drinks in Maine for the 145-mile route, the newspaper reported.

The prepare brings a whole lot of 1000’s of passengers to Boston yearly, and its promoting typically performs up the power to loosen up with a drink through the trip.
