Russian President Vladimir Putin introduced plans on Saturday to station tactical nuclear weapons in neighboring Belarus.
Putin mentioned the plan was in response to Britain’s determination this previous week to offer Ukraine with armor-piercing rounds containing depleted uranium. Russia falsely claimed these rounds have nuclear elements.
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has lengthy requested for the weapons, Putin mentioned, talking in an interview on Russian state tv.
He mentioned development of storage services for the weapons in Belarus can be accomplished by July 1.
