UNITED NATIONS, June 19 (Reuters) – U.N. Secretary-Common Antonio Guterres on Monday urged Israel to halt and reverse what he described as troubling and alarming selections on settlement exercise within the occupied West Financial institution, a U.N. spokesperson stated.
“The Secretary-Common reiterates that settlements are a flagrant violation of worldwide regulation. They’re a significant impediment to the conclusion of a viable two-State answer and a simply, lasting and complete peace,” deputy U.N. spokesperson Farhan Haq stated in a press release.
“The enlargement of those unlawful settlements is a major driver of tensions and violence and deepens humanitarian wants,” Haq stated.
