13. Pop Tarts

During the 1990s, Pop Tarts made a popular debut on our breakfast tables in the UK. They’re a quick and tasty breakfast-in-one, but unfortunately, that’s where the good news ends. These convenient treats are packed with white, processed flour, sugar (about four teaspoons per Pop-Tart), and artificial colorings.
As adults, we may yearn for our sugar-filled childhood breakfasts, but indulging in Pop-Tarts regularly (or giving them to our children) isn’t a healthy option. Starting the day with so much sugar leads to an inevitable sugar rush, followed by a crash, leaving us feeling lethargic and unable to concentrate. This can lead to more unhealthy choices throughout the day.
Moreover, a high-sugar diet can lead to weight gain and high blood sugar levels, which could cause further health problems down the line. So, it’s better to enjoy these artificially colored and sugary breakfast ideas that lack essential nutrients as an occasional treat only.
