A former Boston Red Sox star Bill Lee collapsed in the bullpen as he was warming up in preparation for Savannah Bananas during an 

exhibition game on Friday night. However, the veteran pitcher was able to walk off the field with help.

He was able to leave the stadium with medical attention and was taken to a local hospital," Jared Orton said  There was no immediate information on his condition.

Lee who is one of the Red Sox Hall of Fame and affectionately known as "Spaceman," was in the right-field bullpen

when this incident took place. The game was suspended but resumed after Lee was removed from the field.

Lee has played for the Bananas which is a team that is known for its bright yellow uniforms as well as hilarious antics both in and off the field.

In 14 seasons with Boston in addition to Montreal, Lee went 119-90. A former All-Star during 1973, the lefty pitched his fellow Red Sox 

into the 1975 World Series and started Game 7 against Cincinnati. Lee left in the seventh inning , and Boston eventually lost to Cincinnati 4-3.
