The New York Knicks briefly backed off from talks Monday evening the Cleveland Cavaliers aggressively sought out and signed

the three-time All-Star player Donovan Mitchell in exchange to the Utah Jazz on Thursday, according to sources on ESPN.

The Cavaliers will send Jazz forward Lauri Markkanen as well as rookie Wing Ochai Agbaji and guard Collin Sexton, 

three first-round picks that are not protected (2025 2027, 2027, and 2029) as well as two swaps (2026 or 2028) for Mitchell according to sources.

Sexton has signed the four-year signing and trade deal worth $72 million with the Jazz Sexton's agent, Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul spoke to ESPN.

The deal will transform the Cavaliers into an Eastern Conference contender with potential lasting power.

It also adds Mitchell to a team that also includes two 2022 All-Stars guard Darius Garland and center Jarrett Allen -and Rookie of Year winner Evan Mobley,

As Utah revamps its roster following the offseason deals for All-Star Rudy Gobert and, more recently, 

Mitchell the franchise now has 13 unprotected or lightly secured first-rounders through 2029 as well as two first-rounders in 2022 which include Kansas' Agbaji and 7-footer Walker Kessler,
