Hamilton condemns unauthorized performances of the show held by a Texas church on the weekend.

'Unauthorized' Staging of Musical Featuring

The Door Christian Fellowship Ministries located in McAllen, Texas, hosted shows of Hamilton on Friday

Its Tony Award-winning Broadway show, designed by Lin-Manuel Miranda has an officially-licensed touring organization that travels North America but does not allow amateur performers to tour.

Brown says that on the weekend they were informed about the staged production that was not authorized by Hamilton" which took place on Friday.

Then, "We issued a cease-and-desist letter to stop the unauthorized utilization of Hamilton's intellectual property,

requesting immediate removal of any video and images from prior productions off the internet.

After receiving a response from the church The Hamilton group informed The Door they could "proceed" with the planned show on Saturday "

on the condition that the show was not live-streamed or recorded, and that there were no photographs and videos from the show be made public;
