The Grace and Frankie star, 85, revealed she was diagnosed with cancer--non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) to be exact. However, she's not letting it dampen her determination.

She said that her latest illness will not stop her from continuing her environmental activism, and even organizing fire Drill every Friday in Washington, D.C.

"We're living through the most consequential time in human history because of what we do or don't do right

now will determine what kind of future there will be and I will not allow cancer to keep me from doing all I can," she wrote.

She added: "Cancer is a teacher and I'm paying close attention to the lessons it teaches me. One thing it's taught me is the importance of community.

It's about growing and deepening your community so that you are not on our own. Cancer and my age, which is almost 85, definitely teaches how important it is to adapt to the changing world.
