We reported Wednesday that the former Teen Mom2 star turned down a recent offer by MTV for a return to the network to host their Teen Mom. The Next Chapter spinoff.

The 30-year-old reality TV veteran apparently refused MTV's request for exclusivity. Insiders suggested that she was currently working on another series with another network.

Jenelle spoke out about her career on Wednesday night! This statement was shared by People by the 16 and Pregnant alumni about the close of her contract negotiations for MTV executives:

"I ALONE chose to reject the terms of the agreement in order to pursue other career options, based upon the terms.

It wouldn't have been in line with my current opportunities. There are no hard feelings. MTV and its producers are very grateful for my inclusion.

"This is me being more smart about my career, future, and I'd like for me to pursue all the things that make sense,

for my family and myself, and not burn any bridges along the way, just doing what's best for me,

Jenelle Evans

and participating in things aligned with everything im currently doing, thank-you MTV and the producers!

According to Keen, an entertainment biz rep suggested that Evans may be open to returning to the network if there is a better offer.

"There might be more discussions about this. We are not currently doing the show. They must come to us with a better offer.
