Raducanu's run to the fourth round of SW19 last year saw her thrust into the spotlight. She was also the first singles qualifier to win the Grand Slam at US Open.

Raducanu lost round two 6-3, 6-3 to Caroline Garcia after beating Alison Van Uytvanck in her Centre Court debut.

, the British No 1, reacted to her defeat by critics, who suggested that she was struggling to live up the hype.

Raducanu stated, "There's no pressure." Raducanu said, "Like, why's there any pressure?" I'm still 19. It's like a joke. It was literally a Slam.

Although some have questioned Raducanu's quirky response, Konta, a former Wimbledon semi-finalist, supported Raducanu in standing up for her rights.

"What she said was a fact. She is a Grand Slam Champion and she is 19 years old, so these are just facts she stated.
