Young Thug irst broke into the hip-hop scene after signing with Gucci Mane’s 1017 Records in 2013. He released a debut mixtape that year and went on to release the singles “Stoner” and “Danny Glover” in 2014. He also released other mixtapes over the years, and his debut studio album, So Much Fun, was eventually released in 2019.
The rapper (whose real name is Jeffrey Williams) has won several awards for his work and is involved in philanthropic work. He has joined campaigns to fight for poverty and once donated all proceeds from his sold out concert to Planned Parenthood. However, in May 2022, Young Thug was embroiled in Georgia’s longest criminal trial in history once he was arrested on gang-related charges. In October 2024, he was released from prison after he pleaded guilty to the charges.
