Dawson’s Creek premiered on January 20, 1998, and quickly became a beloved series by the millennial generation. With stars like James Van Der Beek, Michelle Williams, and Katie Holmes, audiences were drawn to the dramatic stories of the teens for 6 seasons. Since the show ended in 2003, the cast members have gone on to have incredibly successful careers and are still very much a part of the entertainment industry today.
James continued to be a staple of the small screen, appearing in everything from Pose to Ugly Betty and even a stint on Dancing With the Stars in 2019. Unfortunately, he died in February 2026 following a battle with colorectal cancer. He was 48.
Katie’s personal life became a major fixture for fans after she wed Tom Cruise in 2006 and welcomed the couple’s daughter, Suri Cruise, the same year. In 2012, the couple divorced, but Katie has dedicated herself to giving Suri as normal a childhood as possible in New York City.
Michelle has gone on to earn four Academy Award nominations for her work in films Brokeback Mountain, Blue Valentine, My Week With Marilyn and Manchester By The Sea.
