Wedding bells rang for the Lowe family this weekend! Rob Lowe’s eldest son, Matthew Lowe, married Emily Markus in Montecito, California, on October 10, 2026, and none other than Gwyneth Paltrow stood up front to officiate the ceremony. Rob and his wife, Sheryl Berkoff, celebrated alongside their younger son, John Owen Lowe. It came just weeks after the family’s heartbreaking loss of Rob’s 13-year-old niece, Fiona Lowe.

Rob built his career on Brat Pack classics like The Outsiders and St. Elmo’s Fire before winning over a new generation with Tommy Boy, The West Wing and Parks and Recreation. These days, he hosts the FOX game show The Floor, but he has always called his two sons his “proudest achievement.” He opened up about fatherhood in a 2018 interview with Today.

“No matter how many movies or books or TV shows I do, raising those guys has been my favorite thing I’ve ever done.”

Rob and Sheryl, who married in July 1991, welcomed Matthew, their firstborn, in 1993. He graduated from Duke University in 2016 and went on to study law at Loyola Law School in Los Angeles. He also joined his dad and brother on the 2017 A&E series The Lowe Files, which followed the trio as they chased unsolved mysteries across the country. Matthew told People in January 2022 that Rob has always been his biggest supporter.

“He’s the first one to do absolutely anything to help you succeed.”

Matthew popped the question to Emily on June 29, 2025. He shared the news on Instagram days later, playfully calling himself the “Lord of the Rings” in his caption, according to Parade. Just over a year later, the couple said “I do” at the Rosewood Miramar Beach resort in front of a star-studded guest list, TMZ reported.
