Taylor Swift finally found her love story in fiancé Travis Kelce. Two years into their relationship, the couple got engaged, effectively breaking the internet with their announcement. Now that the world knows they’re getting married, some are wondering if. Taylor has ever been engaged before Travis, and if so, how many times she may have accepted proposals.
Travis proposed to Taylor in the backyard of his home in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, his dad, Ed Kelce, told ABC News 5 Cleveland on August 26, 2025, just hours after Taylor and Travis announced their big news.
“And I told him repeatedly, you know, you could do it on the side of the road, do it any place that makes it a special event … when you get down on one knee and ask her to marry you,” Ed said. “He got her out there, they were about to go out to dinner, and he said, ‘Let’s go out and have a glass of wine.’ They got out there, and that’s when he asked her, and it was beautiful.”
However, Page Six reported that Travis asked Taylor to marry him at his Leawood, Kansas, house.
According to Ed, Taylor and Travis got engaged sometime in mid-August 2025, sometime after she announced her next album and when she made her “New Heights” podcast debut.
“Travis actually did the proposal, oh, maybe two weeks, not quite two weeks ago,” Ed told ABC News 5 Cleveland. “He was going to put it off till this week. I think she was getting maybe a little antsy, but he was going to put her off till this week, to, you know, make some grand thing, to make it a big special event.”
