A true icon. Marilyn Monroe, born Norma Jeane Mortenson on June 1, 1926, is the definition of a bombshell. The actress is universally known, despite her short life. She started her career as a pin-up model, before moving onto the film scene in the ’50s. Her on-screen charisma was undeniable, and by the mid-50s she was one of the business’ top-earning actresses. Her most iconic roles include the comedies Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, How to Marry a Millionaire and The Seven Year Itch. Her last role was in the 1961 drama The Misfits.
Although her personal life was far from easy living under the harsh spotlight, Marilyn remains one of Hollywood’s most beloved figures.
