Angelina Jolie, born June 4, 1975, in Los Angeles, California, is an Academy Award-winning actress, filmmaker and humanitarian. The daughter of actor Jon Voight, she made her screen debut as a child in Lookin’ to Get Out (1982) before becoming one of Hollywood’s biggest stars through films such as Gia, Girl, Interrupted, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Changeling and Disney’s Maleficent franchise. Jolie won an Oscar for her performance in Girl, Interrupted and has earned multiple Golden Globe Awards throughout her career.
Outside of acting, Jolie is known for her humanitarian work and advocacy on behalf of refugees, women’s rights and education initiatives. She spent more than two decades working with the United Nations and continues to support global humanitarian causes.
Jolie shares six children with former husband Brad Pitt — Maddox, Zahara, Pax, Shiloh, and twins Vivienne and Knox. The pair married in 2014 and separated in 2016. While their divorce was finalized in 2024, legal disputes related to their former French winery, Château Miraval, have continued.
