Kenan Thompson first rose to fame in the 1990s as a standout cast member on Nickelodeon’s All That before becoming one half of the beloved comedy duo behind Kenan & Kel alongside Kel Mitchell. The pair also starred together in the cult-favorite film Good Burger (1997), and decades later reunited for Good Burger 2, which premiered in 2023.
After finding success on Nickelodeon, Kenan transitioned into adult sketch comedy when he joined Saturday Night Live in 2003. More than two decades later, he remains the longest-running cast member in the show’s history and one of its most recognizable stars. Throughout his career, Kenan has earned multiple Emmy nominations and won an Emmy for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics for an SNL song in 2018.
Outside of SNL, Kenan has continued building a successful television and film career, appearing in projects such as NBC’s Kenan, animated movies and various comedy specials. He has also hosted major events including the Emmy Awards and People’s Choice Awards, further cementing his place as one of television’s most enduring comedic personalities.
