Madelyn Cline was cast as Sarah Cameron in Outer Banks in 2018, with the show premiering in spring 2020 and quickly becoming one of Netflix’s breakout hits. The series returned for season two in summer 2021 and was renewed for season three later that year, which debuted in 2023. Season four followed, further solidifying Madelyn as one of the show’s most recognizable stars.
While Outer Banks remains her signature role, Madelyn has continued to expand her résumé. In 2022, she appeared in Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, starring alongside Daniel Craig in the hit Netflix sequel. She has also taken on film projects such as What Breaks the Ice and This Is the Night. Most recently, Madelyn has been cast in the upcoming reboot of I Know What You Did Last Summer, marking a major step into the horror genre and signaling her continued transition into high-profile studio films. Outside of acting, she has become a fashion fixture, regularly attending major red carpets and fashion events, and has fronted campaigns for luxury brands.
During the early years of Outer Banks, Madelyn dated her co-star Chase Stokes for more than a year before the pair split in fall 2021. Despite the breakup, they remained on amicable terms and continued working together on the series.
