Enrique Martín Morales, better known as Ricky Martin, was born on December 24, 1971, in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Ricky rose to fame in the early 80’s when he joined the legendary boy band Menudo which he stayed in until his departure in July 1989. He then transitioned to the world of acting on Mexican telenovelas and soap operas like ‘General Hospital.’ It was around this time that he began his solo music career as well which did extremely well for him in the Latin markets.
He reached a different version of stardom in 1998 with the release of “Livin’ La Vida Loca,” which hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and earned him many accolades in the process. He remained successful throughout the 2000’s. Ricky’s personal life was much discussed. He came out as gay in March 2010 and later married husband Jwan Yosef. The couple share four children together.
