Joey Graziadei not only captured hearts as the star of The Bachelor season 28 but also as the winner of Dancing With the Stars season 33! The 29-year-old was partnered with professional dancer Jenna Johnson on the dancing competition, which lasted about 10 weeks. The duo emerged victorious, taking home the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy, with Ilona Maher and Alan Bersten finishing in second place.
On the finale episode, after learning he had won, Joey shared, “This experience has been unbelievable, honestly. Everyone from the beginning. Ilona, you have been amazing this season. I love you. All the finalists, the judges, thank you for bearing with us. I tried my best, I promise. Thank you.”
Before his time on DWTS, Joey was known for being part of Bachelor Nation, particularly for his appearance on the season 20 finale of The Bachelorette. He was heartbreakingly dumped by Charity Lawson at the final rose ceremony, where she got engaged to Dotun Dotun Olubeko. Since then, Joey has embarked on his own journey to find love.
“I want someone that’s just themself that I can truthfully be a partner with,” Joey said “I want someone that challenges me. I want someone that I can challenge. I want someone to do life with and be my person. And at the end of the day, we’re going to be happy together.”
Ahead of the premiere, News47.us spoke exclusively with Joey about his decision to become the new Bachelor. “I wanted to make sure that I was fully ready, and I thought that I could do this. But if I’m being honest, pretty early on, when I was going through the process of it, like thinking about doing it, I knew that if the opportunity came, I was gonna say yes,” he revealed. Having found love with his now-fiancée, Kelsey Anderson, during The Bachelor Season 28, and now crowned the DWTS Season 33 winner, learn more about Joey here.
