The incident unfolded on Delta Flight 938, which landed early at John F. Kennedy International Airport without any operational issues, the airline told Newsweek. Selma allegedly tried to open the plane’s door mid-flight, which sparked a confrontation with the crew, Variety reported. Port Authority police responded to a call about a physically abusive passenger once the plane reached the gate, according to ABC News. Delta made its stance clear in a statement.
“Delta has zero tolerance for unruly or unlawful behavior, as the safety of our customers and crew always comes first.”
Selma is accused of punching one flight attendant and biting another, and dispatch audio mentioned a bloody nose and bite marks, TMZ reported. One attendant was taken to a hospital. After her arrest, Selma allegedly kicked a Port Authority officer in the head during the ambulance ride and assaulted a nurse at the hospital. She has been charged with two counts of assault, one involving the officer and one involving the nurse, according to Hello! Her representative said a health crisis led to the incident.
“Selma experienced a medical emergency that led to the alleged conduct. Upon landing, she received immediate medical attention and is currently in stable condition.”
