Casey Affleck is an Oscar-winning actor, filmmaker and the younger brother of Ben Affleck. The brothers grew up in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and both went on to build successful careers in Hollywood. Casey began acting at a young age and gained wider recognition with roles in films like Good Will Hunting and the Ocean’s trilogy.
Over the years, Casey has starred in a wide range of movies, including The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, Gone Baby Gone, Interstellar and A Ghost Story. He won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his performance in 2016’s Manchester by the Sea. He appeared in Christopher Nolan‘s Oppenheimer and reunited with longtime friend Matt Damon for 2024’s The Instigators, which Casey also co-wrote. He has also stepped behind the camera, writing, directing and producing films including Light of My Life.
Casey was married to Summer Phoenix, the younger sister of Joaquin and the late River Phoenix, from 2006 until their divorce was finalized in 2017. The former couple shares two sons, Indiana and Atticus. Casey has been in a relationship with actress Caylee Cowan since 2021. Born in 1975 and 1998, respectively, Casey and Caylee have an age gap of about 23 years.
