Cate Blanchett has remained one of Hollywood’s most acclaimed performers for decades. Born on May 14, 1969, in Melbourne, Australia, the two-time Oscar winner first trained at the National Institute of Dramatic Art before launching her career on Australian stages and television. She rose to international fame after starring as Queen Elizabeth I in Elizabeth, earning her first Academy Award nomination and establishing herself as one of the industry’s top dramatic actresses.
From there, Cate built one of the most respected careers in film, appearing as Galadriel in The Lord of the Rings and later reprising the role in The Hobbit movies.
