The 2024 GLAAD Media Awards began and concluded on a high note. With multiple A-listers in attendance, the annual event — which took place at New York City’s Hilton Midtown — honors various entertainers representing the LGBTQ+ community, from films to video games and to journalism.

Jennifer Lawrence was one of the highlights of the evening. As she delivered her speech to hand out the Vito Russo Award, she couldn’t help but joke about former Vice President Mike Pence and his stance on the LGBTQ+ community.

“I love seeing so many humans who can talk their feels while still power bottoming,” the Hunger Games star began, adding, “Not to mention to be in a room with this many men and not need mace. I love the gay community. In fact, I was in love with a homosexual. It was my first love. I’ve tried to convert them for years. But now I know conversion therapy doesn’t work. Did you hear that, Mike Pence? They said conversion therapy isn’t real. Even though I know you think it worked on you.”
