Jaafar Jackson is quickly becoming a name to watch in Hollywood. The 29-year-old is set to portray his late uncle, Michael Jackson, in the highly anticipated biopic Michael. Director Antoine Fuqua first announced Jaafar’s casting in January 2023.
Jaafar is the second youngest son of Jermaine Jackson, one of Michael’s older brothers, and is part of the iconic Jackson family. His mother is Alejandra Genevieve Oaziaza, and he is one of Jermaine’s seven children.
The biopic marks Jaafar’s first onscreen role. He wrote on Instagram after his casting was announced, “I’m humbled and honored to bring my Uncle Michael’s story to life. To all the fans all over the world, I’ll see you soon.” The biopic will chronicle Michael’s life from his younger years to his worldwide fame. The film is expected to address the controversies in MJ’s past.
