Martina McBride, born July 29, 1966, in Sharon, Kansas, is one of country music’s most successful and enduring artists. Known for powerful hits such as “Independence Day,” “A Broken Wing,” “This One’s for the Girls” and “Concrete Angel,” she became a leading voice in country music throughout the 1990s and 2000s. Over the course of her career, McBride has released more than a dozen studio albums, sold millions of records worldwide and earned numerous accolades, including four Country Music Association Female Vocalist of the Year awards and three Academy of Country Music Top Female Vocalist honors. She has also received 14 Grammy nominations.
Martina married sound engineer and music producer John McBride in 1988, and the couple share three daughters: Delaney, Emma and Ava. Beyond music, she has authored cookbooks, supported various charitable causes and remained active in the country music community. In 2025, McBride was announced as a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame’s Class of 2025, cementing her legacy as one of the genre’s most influential performers.
